May 17, 2008 - update Well, the kids and I are leaving in about two weeks to head to the states. We are going to hang out in Florida until we meet Ben in DC. He will stay behind and get the house packed up and out process from the base here in Germany. We still are not sure when that will be but hope that he will be on his way to our new home in July. If I were to continue waiting around here, I might go crazy. Plus, the kids haven't been to Florida in 4 years. It will be a great time to visit with friends and family. March 13, 2008 - A new Home Wow, sorry... It has been a while since I have written. Well, back in January, we decided that we wanted to move into a new house here. It was 3 miles closer to the base and there were many more children for the kids to play with. The house was awesome and it had a garage. Well, we looked at in on a Saturday and told the guy that we wanted it. We also told him that Ben was leaving the next day for the states and would be back the following weekend. He said that was no problem and we could finalize things when Ben got back. Well, that is the trip that Ben went to Tampa for his new job and got offered another new job in Washington DC, at the Pentagon. We knew this was a far off possibility but never thought it would really happen. Well, Ben and his Colonel changed plans so that they could stay the night in DC rather than just having a layover there so that Ben could interview for the new job. They thought he was perfect and so, we are moving to DC. When you ask? Well, they origonally wanted him in place April 15th. And at this time, we are 1 month out from that and nothing has happened here. So, they are thinking that June 1st is a little more realistic. He also just got tagged to go to the NCO Academy so we will be leaving right after he graduates at the end of May. We have been constantly looking online for houses and have found some really nice ones. After much thought and deliberation, we have focused on looking in the Woodbridge, Virginia area. There is a hospital there where I can get a job and also a college so I can go back to school. The schools for the kids there are really great and we are excited to start this new chapter in our lives. Oh, I forgot, there is also Potomac Mills.......a HUGE outlet with tons of stores and places to eat. Oh, and an IKEA! We will have all we need, right there! Ireland....here I come! Well, back in December, Ben was invited along with some of the guys to go on a trip to Dublin for St. Patty's Day weekend. He paid for his plane ticket and got a really good deal. Well, on into January, he got his test date for Master Seargent, and it is for March 17th! The day after they were to come back from their trip. He said there was no way he was gonna go party for the weekend and then come home and test.....so, I am going instead! I asked a friend of mine if she wanted to go and she was all for it! So, she got her ticket, and after another 100 Euro (which I didn't know about), we changed the name on Ben's ticket to mine! UGH! The origonal ticket didn't even cost that much! Can you believe that? 100 euro just for a name change? RIP OFF! Oh well, anyways.... we leave tomorrow morning for Ireland! Whoopie!!! We will be so busy all weekend and will definately post pictures, don't worry. We are going on a Dublin Bay and Castle tour on Friday - We will wander through the beautiful Malahide Castle and gardens and enjoy the fresh sea breeze and breathtaking views of Dublin Bay from Howth Summit. On Saturday, we will travel by rail to the Southern Captial city of Cork - Visiting the world renowned Blarney Stone and the Queenstown Story at Cobh, famous as the Titanic's last port of call. On Sunday, we will tour the Guinness Storehouse - Located in the heart of the St Jamess Gate Brewery, GUINNESS STOREHOUSE® is Irelands No. 1 international visitor attraction. And, when we have time, we will be visiting one of the many festivals going on all weekend! We are so excited!!! It turns out that none of the at least 6 guys that were going to go on the trip, are going to go. Ben because of his test, one because he will be gone with the military, another one because the other guy can't go, so he doesn't want to go, and the others I guess because they didn't want to go by themselves.....big babies! So, Jes and I will go and have tons of fun!!!! Look for pictures soon! **It was a great trip and Jesika and I had a fantastic time! Here are a couple of pictures, but you can see the rest from the Scrapbook menu!
