Ben was a nominee for the 435th Logistics Readiness Group NCO of the year for 2007. He won this title for the squadron as well. The banquet was fabulous. Before the banquet, the commander presented Ben with a medal which he wore around his neck all night. They then presented me with a rose. Once it was time for the nominees to be announced, the lights were off and they had the spotlight on us. As Ben's name was announced, we walked down the red carpet through the Honor Guard and their swords. It was really neat. Ben was up against 4 others from the group, but some Bomb guy won. He had been in Iraq and diffused a bomb that saved tons of people and was awarded a bronze star. I guess he diserved it! It was nice that Ben was nominated though. The photos below are from a dinner with the spouses group that I went to in January. We got to dress up like we were going on the Red Carpet! It was so much fun.
