Soccer Season is here! Yippee☺

Well, as I had posted earlier, Christian made the JV team at the High School! We are so proud of him; Go Wolverines!!! He has been having practice 5-6 days a week and has already had two scrimages against another local high school. They have done pretty well and we are excited to see what this new adventure will bring us. Ben and I are volunteering to work the concessions for a couple of the Varsity games. This should be fun and will help raise money for the soccer club at the school. His first game is this Friday night and he will have 2 games a week on most weeks. I will post pictures when I can.

Brittney's team starts practice today. Ben is coaching and I am helping out when needed. She is playing on the classic team this year and had to try out for this. She is on a coed team but is the only girl. We will post pics too as we get them. She is very excited to get this season started, and so is dad!

This week will be a busy week for us for even more reasons than just soccer practice. We are hosting two boy soccer players from Argentina (U14). Our soccer association invites them every year and they come to play soccer and see the sites of our area. They will be staying with us from Thursday night to Monday morning. Boy, was our grocery bill big this week with two extra growing boy's mouths to feed. We are excited and are looking forward to hosting our company.

We are also excited because we are doing some trading with some friends to get some of our sheet rock work done. They own a sheet rocking business and are going to help us out because Ben did some work on their lawn mower and got it running again. Ahh....this so great. Ben is going to help them so he can learn the right way to do sheet rock. We do have a lot that needs to be done, so we will have to tackle some of it ourselves.

Well, all for now and pictures to come!
Happy Monday!

The flowers need to bloom!

Well, here we are still with tons of snow everywhere. We are all getting really tired of that white stuff and have encouraged the rain to come and help wash it away. It has begun to slowly melt, but just not fast enough. We did loose our shed to the last storm as we forgot to get the snow off of the roof.

Ben was able to pop the roof back up and support it, so it will be ok for now. Hopefully we won't have to replace it right away.

We are tired of hitting the snow banks with the cars while backing up or pulling forward to park. You think you are scraping all of the paint off when you even just nudge the snow. Luckily, it has not left any damage on the vehicles except for bending Ben's front license plate. We are really ready for the warm weather and for the flowers to bloom again. The birds have begun to chirp, so I think that is a good sign....but we do have some more snow in the forecast this week. We shall see. A few more inches should be to bad.

Our heat pump has finally given up and we are had it replaced today. We were bummed to have to fork out the money, but knew it was coming. We have had to have it serviced severl times since we have owned the home, so it was only a matter of time. We are looking forward to the tax break and the lower electric bills. This will all be a plus!

School is going to well for the kiddos, now that there are actually able to go. Christian got his semester grades and got three B's and one A; give or take a + or - here and there. He has just started a new semester and is excited to finally be taking JROTC. The branch of military his school has to offer is, none other than the Air Force! He is very excited to be wearing the same uniform as his dad.

In March, he has a military ball and asked if his mom and dad would chaperone. We are excited to be able to dress up and will post pictures soon! Christian will also be taking Spanish, Geography, and some kind of computer class for this semester.

Christian had soccer tryouts all week and found out tonight that he made the JV team! We are so proud of him; Go Wolverines!!!

Brittney is doing well and is currently working on a couple of projects at school. She has been working diligently after school doing research and we are very proud of her initiative. She also got her report card with three B's and one A! Way to go Britt!!

Valentine Treasures

Valentine treasures are people who have often crossed your mind,
family, friends and others, too,who in your life have shined
the warmth of love or a spark of light that makes you remember them;
no matter how long since you’ve actually met, each one is a luminous gem, who gleams and glows in your memory, bringing special pleasures, and that’s why this Valentine comes to you: You’re one of those sparkling treasures!

Blizzard 2010

Well, here we are in Virginia; FREEZING! Today I am at work, but the Ben and the kids are home....again. The kids went to school for one day last week and that was not even a full day. This week, the kids are out all week and Ben will probably have to go tomorrow. You know it is bad when the churches cancel their services and the Federal Government is closed for four days in a row.
The last weekend of January, we got about 7 or so inches of snow. Then we got dumped on the next weekend, which was the 5th and 6th of February. That "Blizzard" we were graced with 2 feet of the powdery white stuff. Just as it started snowing on the morning of the 5th, Ben and the kids made a 6 ft tall snowman who Brittney lovingly named "Peeceonburger" which is pronounced "Peace on Burger".

They have had tons of fun playing in the snow and digging out big piles to make igloos. They have been sledding and shoveling. I think Ben and Christian are really tired of shoveling. I guess that is a slight trade off for not being able to go to the gym.

Brittney on top of a mound of snow in the street!

So, on top of the 31 inches that we had already had on the ground, we were blessed with more of the white stuff yesterday. We got an additional 6 or so inches. So, there is tons of snow! We are all kind of going stirr crazy and I can say honestly that I am enjoying being at work today. We are worried at how the school is going to handle the extra days that the kids have to make up. We are hoping that they won't have to go to school all summer, as we have a beach house to get to in July! Come on July! Well, all for now. Hope everyone else is faring the weather and being safe! We ♥ u!
