The video
below is a compilation of our fun in our two feet of snow we got this
weekend 12/20/09. The music is from my great friend and musician,
Kevin Roland. Thank you Kevin!
Happy
Holidays!!!
Welcome and thanks for stopping by. We decided to make this site so
that all of our friends and family could keep up with us while are
living so far away. We would like to share with you too and hope that
you enjoy our memories. Where are we, you ask? We moved back to the
states in November, 2008. Ben got a special job in the AF and is
working for the Pentagon for 4 years. This was unexpected, but we are
very excited to be in D.C. and are all loving it!
You
may not know, but we were in limbo from February 2008 (thinking we
would be in DC by 15 April 2008) until we finally got here in
November 2008. It just took the military a little extra time to get
all of the kinks worked out for Ben's new job, but it was well worth
the wait. Wow, we can't believe that we have been here for a year
now; how time flies? We are all settled in to our new home in
Stafford, Virginia and are very excited to have been able to move on
with our lives. Being in limbo is terrible!
The
kids are doing great and have fit right into their new schools.
Soccer season started in March and was over at the end of May. That
was a busy time with both kids playing, Ben coaching, and me having
to coach when Ben was gone (which was quit a bit). I have come to
learn that I just like being a great soccer mom:)
We
bought a foreclosure and have been doing tons of work on it. You can
read all of the stories in our scrapbook; you might find them a
little humorous! We have knocked down walls, painted, replaced
carpet, remodeled a bathroom & kitchen, new landscaping, painted
shutters, replaced the front door, and much more!
I
found a GREAT job and started in early March. I am working for a
Primary Care doctor and she and my whole office are wonderful. I
couldn't be happier. I am a medical assistant (basically her
nurse....but I am not really a nurse...they just call me one) for her
and I just love my patients. It is great to be actually doing what I
am meant to do, and not just settle for whatever I can do while being
overseas. I am also still a doula and had a special delivery just
before Easter.
The
kiddos were gone all summer enjoying their grandparents in Florida.
They spent the first half with Christy's mom and stepdad, and the
second half with Ben's parents. We got them back at the end of August
and took a week long trip to see Mickey Mouse in Florida.
We
are full swing into school and things are going pretty well, dispite
the normal challanges that we have keeping the kids on track. It is
tough work being a parent sometimes, but we will survive! Christian
is in HIGH SCHOOL....and Britt is in MIDDLE.....Aghghghghg!!!! I
can't believe how grown they are! The kids both played soccer this
fall and Christian has been doing conditioning for the high school
soccer team and tryouts are in February. Just after school started,
Christian got his BRACES!
Have
a look in our Family Scrapbook below for more stories and lots of
photos of the house! I just completely overhauled the website and we
are trying to keep new pictures and updates coming. Enjoy, thanks for
stopping by, and check back often for new stuff! Hope all is well and
please keep in touch when you can. We always love to hear from
friends and family. Please sign our guestbook so we will know you
came to visit.
